About the Company

BWASCO Water & Sewerage PLC is a public water and sanitation service provider mandated to provide safe, reliable, and affordable water and sewerage services within Bungoma County.

Position Overview

The Managing Director shall report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for providing overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the Company’s operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Implementing the Company’s strategic plan and preparing annual reports.
• Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
• Ensuring staff carry out their duties and responsibilities efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations and administration of the Company.

Requirements for Appointment

• Must be a Kenyan citizen.
• Must hold at least a first degree in:
  • Civil Engineering
  • Water Engineering
  • Business-related field
  • Environmental Science
  • Or any other equivalent qualification
• Relevant professional qualifications and registration with a recognized professional body in good standing (e.g., Engineers Board of Kenya).
• Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification experience, with at least five (5) years at senior management level in a reputable organization.
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity.

Terms of Employment

The Managing Director position is offered on a contractual basis for a period of five (5) years, renewable subject to performance.
